This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy following the meeting of the head of the department, Herman Halushchenko, and Holtec International CEO Chris Singh.
Chris Singh noted that Ukraine could become an energy hub in Europe after the election.

Earlier, the world's only unique Centralised Spent Fuel Storage Facility (CSFSF) was built with the support of Holtec International, the Ministry of Energy noted. It was commissioned before the full-scale invasion of Russia.
"Spent nuclear fuel is stored at the CSFSF using dry storage technology. This technology is licensed by the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (US NRC), has all the necessary technical solutions to ensure such safety during the transportation and storage of spent fuel, and has been successfully tested in the United States, Spain, the United Kingdom and other countries," the agency said.
It noted that the use of its own centralised SFSF saves Ukraine about USD 200 million annually and eliminates the need to export spent nuclear fuel to Russia.
