Xi is warned over military support for Russia — political scientist Piontkovsky
Washington-based political scientist Andrey Piontkovsky believes that the Biden administration has issued a severe warning to Xi Jinping over military assistance to Russia
He expressed this opinion on the Espreso TV channel.
"China is now dependent on America, primarily economically. This year, the United States has shown that without American technology, without constructive cooperation, the Chinese economy simply collapses. Biden has a strong position to dictate his will in both conflicts, on both fronts on which he intends to win - the Ukrainian and the Middle East," Piontkovsky explained.
According to the political scientist, China's position in relations with the United States is currently very weak.
"I think Comrade Xi has been strongly advised not to engage in military support for Russia. We'll see how the North Korean aid with missiles continues because North Korea is completely dependent on China. I think this was one of the issues that was discussed behind closed doors. Xi's position with the United States is very weak right now, and he doesn't have time to support Russia," he added.
