The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) has added two leading food corporations, PepsiCo and Mars, to the list of international sponsors of war
This was reported by the NACP press service.
It is reported that the manufacturers of Lay's, Pepsi, Sandora, Snickers, M&M's, Twix, Mirinda and many other well-known brands of sweets, chips and carbonated sweet drinks did not choose whether they support aggression and authoritarianism or take a position of socially responsible business.
It is also noted that the NACP has added two leading food corporations, PepsiCo and Mars, to the list of international sponsors of the war. Despite claims that they have reduced their business, stopped advertising and manufacturing their products, they continue to operate in Russia, paying taxes and supporting the economy.
It is known that PepsiCo produces soft drinks, juices, chips, snacks, dairy products and other food products under the main brands Chester's, Chipsy, Lay's, Mirinda, Pasta Roni, Pepsi, Propel, Sandora, 7up, Simba, Snack a Jacks, Sonric's, Tropicana, Agusha, Chudo, Slovyanochka, Sadochok, Sandorik, Mashenka, etc.
Mars has been operating in Russia for more than 30 years, has invested $2.5 billion in the economy of the aggressor country, created more than 6,000 jobs, and has 10 factories in Russia.
The company promised to reduce its business in Russia after the start of full-scale aggression.
"Any profits from Russian business will be used for humanitarian purposes. The company will not import or export products," the company said in an official statement.
Nevertheless, the factories continue to operate in Russia with an increase in revenues in 2022 compared to 2021. In 2022, Mars LLC's revenue increased to $2.45 billion (or RUB 176.5 billion), net profit grew by 59% to $377 million (or RUB 27.2 billion), and taxes were paid to the Russian budget in the amount of more than $93 million (or RUB 6.76 billion).
It is also noted that in addition to increasing their revenues in Russia in the first year of the full-scale invasion, both companies are actively looking for new employees in Russia.
In addition, according to media reports, the products of one of the companies were found in the food rations of Russian soldiers.
