This was reported by Yonhap.
The Pentagon noted that this step will not affect the combat capability of the US Armed Forces in South Korea.
"The Department of Defense continues to provide military assistance from its inventories in support of Ukraine. United States Forces Korea has been requested to support this effort by providing some of its equipment," said USFK spokesman Colonel Isaac Taylor.
However, he did not specify what kind of equipment the Pentagon asked for and its quantity. In turn, the South Korean Defense Ministry refused to comment on the issue.
- On January 18, it became known that the Pentagon is using US ammunition stocks in warehouses in Israel to meet Ukraine's urgent need for artillery shells in the war with Russia.
