Pauses in hot phase of war will be by summer, but fierce conflict with Russia may last for years - diplomat Chalyi
Diplomat, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine Valeriy Chalyi believes that Ukraine's victory means Ukraine's accession to NATO
He said this on the air of the Espreso TV channel.
"Our partners made a joint decision to prevent Russia from taking bandit steps in geopolitics. But, in my opinion, there is still no consensus to let Ukraine win. Now the turning point is underway, and the partners will move on to this issue. I am least of all concerned about Putin, and what will happen in Russia. I am concerned about how we will protect Ukrainians and Ukraine from further attacks by the aggressor after the deoccupation of the territories," Chalyi emphasized.
According to the diplomat, the hot phase of the war may last for some time. It is clear that resources are running out. By spring or summer, there may be pauses, but the fierce conflict with Russia will continue for years.
"For us, the consensus is the victory of Ukraine, and the victory of Ukraine consists of a certain position: the de-occupation of the entire territory of Ukraine, the return of all our prisoners, reparations or another form of financial recovery of all losses, and Ukraine's entry into the system of collective security. In our case, it is NATO. For me, Ukraine's victory means Ukraine's NATO membership," Chalyi emphasized
