"Over 200 000 killed soldiers" and "chemical weapons in Soledar": Russian fakes for February 6
The Center for Countering Disinformation of the NSDC published fakes that the Russian mass media spread about Ukraine on Monday, February 6
The selection was published on the Telegram channel of the CCD.
In particular, the Russian mass media spread a fake, quoting former Pentagon adviser D. McGregor, they reported that "the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine V. Zaluzhnyi secretly informed the Americans about the death of 257,000 soldiers of the Ukrainian army."
In addition, Russian propaganda media reported that two Ukrainians had applied for asylum in Germany during the training of AFU in Germany. The "news" was accompanied by a screenshot from a Financial Times article. However, the published information is untrue, and the screenshot itself has been graphically edited," the CCD said.
A manipulation spread by the Russian media on February 6 was a report that "the Investigative Committee will investigate the use of chemical weapons by AFU in Artemivsk (Bakhmut - ed.) and Soledar." The fact that Ukrainian troops "used unmanned aerial vehicles with chemicals" was allegedly reported by a Donetsk collaborator, Pushylin.
- On February 3, the interim head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Andriy Shapovalov, said on Espreso TV that the quality of Russian PSYOP against Ukraine has deteriorated significantly
