On May 5, a trust fund for solidarity with Ukraine will start working - Michel
The starting point of the trust fund will be an international conference of donors
This was announced by the President of the European Council Charles Michel, Interfax-Ukraine informs.
"We are determined to do everything possible to support Ukraine, because we want Ukraine to win, so we use all possible tools in our hands. Of course, financial support is very important. The president and I had the opportunity to do more in detail. Therefore, a few weeks ago, after a telephone conversation, we decided to launch a solidarity trust fund with Ukraine. In the following days, it will be May 5, this trust fund will be the starting point, with an international donor conference organized by Poland, Sweden and with the support of the European Commission, all member countries, and with the support of many international actors", Michel said at a press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv on Wednesday, April 20.
He emphasized that the EU is also working closely with international organizations such as the IMF, the World Bank and others to ensure that the EU can raise funds for support so that Ukraine can pay social allocations.
