Office of General Prosecutor learned that operation to seize Chernobyl nuclear power plant was led by Major General of Rosguard
Head of the center of special purpose of operative response and aviation forces of Federal Service of Troops of National Guard of Russian Federation was informed about suspicion of direct management of operation to seize State Special Enterprise "Chernobyl NPP"
This was reported by Office of General Prosecutor of Ukraine.
According to investigation, after occupation of the station, suspect took full control of Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
"He forced workers to perform their duties all days and nights around, without interruption and to be able to move freely around territory. Access to medical care was also restricted," statement said.
It is also noted that suspect gave orders to servicemen of Russian Federation to arrange firing positions on the territory of station and outside it. In particular, in places with increased danger, where you can not even move.
Under procedural guidance of Vyshhorod District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv Region, Major General of Russian Federation was reported in absentia on suspicion of encroaching on territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine and waging an aggressive war (Part 3 of Article 110, Part 2 of Article 437 of the Criminal Code). Pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
