Former Deputy Mayor of Kherson Roman Holovnya said that Russian soldiers continue to mine the Dnipro River bank and build fortifications in the occupied territory of Kherson region

He said this on the Espreso TV channel.

"The Russian occupiers are mining the Dnipro River bank. They mine the territory with anti-tank mines, including placing them in the water. This suggests that they may be preparing to cross the Dnipro. Such a scenario should be taken into account as we are fighting against an insidious enemy," said Holovnya.

The former deputy mayor of Kherson added that the occupiers have mined almost the entire Dnipro River bank on the left bank of the Kherson region.

"Last summer, when the occupiers were retreating from the right bank of the Kherson region, they were preparing defensive fortifications in the occupied territory. The Russian forces mined the territory along the entire Dnipro River bank. They have also built a line of trenches along the Dnipro coast. So I think they are preparing for different scenarios," he added.

  • On April 10, Russian forces dropped an explosive grenade from a drone on a boat with civilians in the Kherson region, seriously injuring a 20-year-old man and a girl. The Russian army shelled the region 56 times during this period, injuring two people.

  • On April 11, Russian troops hit a church, businesses, a power line, and the port area, firing 35 times at Kherson region.
