Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council commented on the article in The New York Times about Putin's "signals" for peace with comments from Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov.
According to the Center, the longer the war lasts, the more Russia is weakened economically, technologically, and demographically.
Russia is becoming increasingly technologically dependent on China in many areas that will make up the economy of the future. Extension of the war for a couple of years will intensify this process.
“Russia's "signal" may in fact be made to prevent further military assistance to the Ukrainian armed forces from the West; it may also be an attempt to add ratings to Trump, who is ready to "give" part of Ukrainian territory to Putin,” the statement reads.
Center for Countering Disinformation writes that one should not forget that Russia is playing "peace" by investing more and more in the military-industrial complex and building up its professional army. The article does not mention this, of course.
"To write this text, the Russian Federation used American journalists recruited during their time in Russia. The Russian Federation's "signal" may in fact be made to prevent further military assistance to the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the West," the Center explained.
