Numerous casualties reported after Russia’s missile attack on Slovyansk, Donetsk region

On the morning of March 27, Russian forces attacked Slovyansk, Donetsk region, with S-300 missiles, killing two and injuring 34 people. 

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

"The enemy struck around 10:30 am. Two rockets hit the center of Slovyansk. As of 3:00 pm, there are 34 victims, two of whom were killed. Five of the wounded are in grave condition," the statement said.

According to law enforcement officials, administrative and office buildings, 5 multi-storey and 7 private houses, and 10 cars were damaged.

As of 1:00 pm, two people were reported dead and 29 injured.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to the attack.

"Another day that began with terrorism by the Russian Federation. The aggressor state shelled our Slovyansk. Unfortunately, there is a dead person and victims of various degrees of severity," the head of state said.

He noted that all services are working at the scene, residents are receiving the necessary assistance. The rubble is being cleared.

"The enemy must know: Ukraine will not forgive the torturing of our people, will not forgive these deaths and wounds. All Russian terrorists will be defeated. Everyone involved in this aggression will be held to account," Zelenskyy wrote.
