Nuclear catastrophe is well-thought-out action that Putin will impose on Ukraine - Piontkovsky

Renowned political scientist Andrey Piontkovsky believes that the goal would be to prevent the Ukrainian army going on the offensive and to disrupt the supply of western weapons to Ukraine

He shared his opinion with Espreso TV.

"The nuclear disaster is a fully thought-out action to prevent the Ukrainian army from advancing and to disrupt the supply of western weapons to Ukraine. This is more serious than anything that has happened so far. In all threats to openly use nuclear weapons with Russian missile strikes, there was a clear attribution of the criminal Putin. He intends to compromise Ukraine in this", the political scientist noted.

Andrey Piontkovsky noted that he was somewhat confused by the headlines of a large part of the Western press, such as "Russians and Ukrainians accuse each other of artillery attacks on the Zaporizhzhian nuclear power plant". Accordingly, half of Putin's case is already done, and this formula is enough for him.

"Therefore, a huge responsibility rests on the Western leaders. There has already been a statement from the G7 countries that they demand to hand over the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant under the control of Ukraine. And, secondly, to send a group of observers or instructors there who will be responsible for security", Piontkovsky commented.
