Norwegian Prime Minister announces "historic" support for Ukraine's restoration
Norway plans to provide full support to our country for a long time and calls on other countries to join this historic initiative.
This was stated by Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre at a joint press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin, Ukrinform reports.
"Russian terror continues, and we must do everything possible to help Ukraine survive the cold winter," Støre said.
He noted that Norway will take part in the restoration of Ukraine. "It will be announced next year, and it should last for many years. This is a historic attempt, and we want many countries to make their contribution," the Norwegian prime minister stressed.
The prime minister reminded that his country helped Ukraine to buy gas for the winter. This initiative is coordinated by the European Development Bank.

The heads of government also discussed the safety of offshore pipelines. According to Stere, the attack on Nord Stream pipelines has further updated this topic. Scholz, in turn, noted that Germany has sent three frigates to patrol in the region. In addition, he informed that the parties appealed to the NATO secretary general with a request to create a coordination unit for the protection of underwater infrastructure.
