This was reported by Reuters.
“We aim to secure a unified agreement on this in parliament,” said Labour Party Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre at a news conference after meeting Norwegian opposition leaders.
He added that the aid will be used for military and humanitarian needs.
Moreover, Norway should also allocate NOK 5 billion this year to help poor countries suffering from the rapid rise in world food prices as a result of the war in Ukraine, Støre said.
Støre’s minority government must receive parliamentary approval for the allocation, which will increase the annual expenditures of Norway's sovereign wealth fund, the world's largest with about USD 1.4 trillion.
