Nitrogen poisoning of pilots was named as one of the reasons for plane crash in Irkutsk - Russian mass media

Russian mass media note that the Su-30 pilots could not divert the plane from the residential sector because they lost consciousness during the flight.  According to the emergency services, the reason for this could be the residual nitrogen in the oxygen cylinders.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation calls the failure of aviation equipment and a pilot error as the main versions.  The agency reports that investigators questioned the management and employees of the airline and are currently conducting an additional inspection of the scene.  Samples of the fuel filled in the aircraft, a unified gas discharge station with medical oxygen have already been removed, chemical and forensic examinations have been ordered, and the flight and technical documentation of the aircraft has been seized.

It is known that an honored test pilot of the Russian Federation and a military pilot of the second class died.
