U.S. aid to Ukraine: General predicts immediate impact on course of war

Ukrainian Army General, Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine (2005-2010) Mykola Malomuzh has said he believes that once Ukraine receives the aid package from the United States in late summer, it is likely to switch from defense to offensive operations.

He expressed this opinion on the Espreso TV channel

"For some reason, Russia decided that the United States would not support the aid package for Ukraine. In fact, the Russians have set goals for themselves during the period of delay in American aid. Today, they are conducting a tactical offensive in several areas of the front. And the occupiers are planning to launch a major strategic offensive in May-June. That is why they declare their goal to capture Donetsk, Luhansk, partially Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia regions." They set these goals hoping that Ukraine would not receive an aid package from the United States," Malomuzh explained.

According to Malomuzh, the US aid package for Ukraine completely disrupts Russia's strategic plans.

"Obviously, Russian intelligence had information that the US aid package for Ukraine would not be adopted. That is why they have such a violent reaction after yesterday's vote in Congress. Because all of Russia's strategic plans are being disrupted. Indeed, they will try to move forward in some areas in the coming weeks and months. However, they have no prospects. They have no systemic reserves for an offensive on four fronts. Ukraine, on the other hand, has good prospects of successfully holding the line. And, probably, to prepare offensive operations by the end of the summer," he added.
