Russian consular staff in Poznan given November 30 deadline to exit Poland
Diplomats of the Russian Consulate General in Poznan, the closure of which was previously announced in Poland, have been ordered to leave the country by November 30
PAP reported this.
According to Polish Foreign Ministry spokesman Pawel Wronski, "technical talks were held between the Polish and Russian sides on the functioning of the consulate in Poznan."
"The consulate was given until November 30 to leave this building (in Poznan - ed.)," he said.
The Polish Foreign Ministry spokesperson noted that the closure of the Russian Consulate General is a rather complicated operation because various things and equipment need to be taken out.
"Russian diplomats have been ordered to leave the country, they have been recognised as undesirable persons on the territory of the Republic of Poland. We are trying to conduct this case in a civilised manner, while giving a clear signal to the Russian side that certain actions on the territory of Poland are not tolerated," Wronski stressed.
The spokesman also assured that by November 30, the diplomats of the Russian Consulate General in Poznan "will no longer be in Poland," adding that his country would not specify the exact date of their departure.
