New wave of mobilization will not help Russian army, but exhaust it - Ukrainian intelligence
Russia is ready to start a new wave of mobilization, but this process will not have a decisive impact on the frontline, but will further exhaust the country
Deputy head of Ukraine’s military intelligence Vadym Skibitskyi shared the information in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.
He claimed that Russia has already prepared for a new wave of mobilization. "Everything is ready. The personnel is in place, the lists are ready, the people tasked with carrying out recruitment and training are on standby," he said.
However, the Deputy Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine notes that even if Russia decides to launch a new wave of mobilization, it will face the same problems as last time. In particular, this concerns the lack of modern weapons and equipment, officers who can train a large number of unprepared mobilized people to participate in combat.
"They (the Russians - ed.) are preparing for a second wave of mobilization but our assessment is that they’ll hold off because they haven’t overcome all the difficulties they experienced during the first wave. They were not ready for such a large-scale mobilization at the time, and they aren’t now,” Skibitskyi commented.
