New war is possible and it is not Gaza - political scientist

Oleh Saakian, political scientist and head of the United Coordination Centre platform, has mentioned the possibility of a new round of war in Syria, where Iran's infrastructure is located, but where the population is not as dense as in the Gaza Strip

He expressed this opinion on Espreso TV.

"When it comes to a possible war, I would not focus on the Gaza Strip, but on the possibility of a new round of the Syrian war. Geography may move there. And in this case, Turkey will indeed take part in such a military confrontation, because it would close the question of a small or a big war for Erdogan to unite Turkish society under the flag. And military and patriotic propaganda in Turkey is at a high level of stability in the Turkish political system. Thus, it is possible to fight for the Palestinians where there are no Palestinians and Jews, winning the battle against windmills," the political scientist commented.

According to him, the United States also has certain interests here, because Syria has Iranian infrastructure that threatens Israel, but does not have the same population density as the Gaza Strip.

"In addition, the Russians can no longer effectively fight in Syria; they handed over part of their infrastructure to Iran directly because they could not maintain it. And thus, they are now taking revenge and demonstrating that the West and the US did not lose the war for Syria, but Russia won, that is, that it was one of the battles. But now there is a backlash. Also, Israel will have the opportunity to show all its strength not only in the Gaza Strip, but also in the case of responding to provocations by Iranian militants from Syria to demonstrate it there," said Oleh Saakian.
