New Russian fakes on NATO eastward expansion, Western forces in Ukraine
Fresh disinformation is being spread in Russian media outlets about a supposed eastward movement of NATO, as well as about alleged contingents of Western forces fighting against the Russian army in Ukraine.
The Center for countering disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine informs about this in a Telegram.
Russian President Putin stated that the U.S. is allegedly trying to prolong the conflict in Ukraine:
"The NATO bloc is moving to the East, increasing its military infrastructure, and they need conflicts to maintain their hegemony. Therefore, implementing the Anti-Russia project, they have prepared for the people of Ukraine the fate of a "cannon fodder" and turned a blind eye to the spread of neo-Nazi ideology, as well as mass murders of Donbas residents.
In addition, Russian Defense Minister Shoigu claims that in Ukraine, Russian servicemen are "opposed by the combined forces of the West", who, they say, control the country's leadership in a "hybrid war against the Russian Federation".
Misinformation is also being spread in Russia about the deployment of the "Azov" battalion in one of the medical centers of Novy Sanzhar in the Poltava region. An ammunition depot was allegedly equipped there, and the medical staff and patients were "cynically expelled from the medical facility by the nationalists."
