Netherlands to provide Ukraine with Patriot missiles, help acquire patrol boats
The Netherlands will provide Ukraine with extra missiles for Patriot air defense, and help acquire patrol boats to restore shipping security
The acting Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte tweeted this.
"We will keep supporting Ukraine, for as long as it takes. This winter, Russia will try to hurt Ukraine as much as possible. So the Netherlands will supply extra Patriot missiles, so that Ukraine can defend itself against Russia’s barbaric airstrikes," he wrote.
He added that together with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, he visited the port of Odesa, where citizens of the country continue to work to export grain and more.
"The Netherlands will help Ukraine acquire patrol boats which can help keep the shipping route for grain exports safe," Rutte emphasized.
At a briefing in Odesa, he also spoke about economic support: "We are allocating more than EUR 100 million to be included in this year's aid package to Ukraine. €60 million will be used to support our companies that will contribute to the reconstruction of Ukraine. Also, to help Ukraine get through the winter, the funds will be used to purchase gas and materials for electricity supply."
