Netherlands to deploy eight F-35 fighters to Poland

Eight F-35 fighter jets from the Royal Netherlands Air Force will deploy to Poland later this week to protect NATO airspace

This was reported by the Leeuwarder Courant.

The newspaper notes that during February and March, four aircraft will go to the Malbork air base near the Polish city of Gdansk to participate in the NATO airspace defense program over Eastern Europe.

The other four F-35s will go to the same Polish air base to participate in exercises with NATO allies to improve cooperation between different countries and respond to Russia's actions.

In particular, it is noted that almost two hundred Dutch military personnel will go to Poland.

In addition, according to a representative of the Dutch defense ministry, the deployment of eight F-35 fighters to Poland is not related to the possible delivery of F-16s to Ukraine, as recently announced by Foreign Minister Wopke Hoekstra.
