"NATO will respond": Poland on "daggers" threat from Kaliningrad
Poland's Deputy Minister of National Defense has stated that NATO's actions will be equivalent to those of the Russian Federation in the Kaliningrad region, and in the event of a threat to Poland, it will be possible to apply Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty
This was reported by Deputy Minister of National Defense Wojciech Skurkiewicz to the PAP agency.
"As a country on NATO's eastern flank, we are fully aware of this, so our actions - in consultation with our allies and NATO headquarters - are and will continue to be adequate to the threats and actions of the Russian Federation," Skurkevich said.
In addition, he emphasized that cooperation within NATO is a guarantee of Poland's security.
"These guarantees were and remain valid, and we communicate our commitment to this with our partners: with individual members of the North Atlantic Alliance, as well as with the President of the United States, Joe Biden," he added.
At the same time, he assured that if there is any threat, Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty, i.e. the formula "one for all, all for one", will be used.
"Therefore, we are absolutely safe when it comes to all issues related to threats to the Republic of Poland," said the deputy head of the Ministry of Defense.
