NATO websites attacked by hackers, Russian group suspected
NATO’s online resources have been cyberattacked by hackers
DW and Radio ERFT reported the information.
A NATO representative confirmed to dpa that its cyber experts are actively investigating the incident, which affected several sites.
Earlier, information spread on Twitter that pro-Russian cybercriminals had attacked the website of the NATO Special Operations Headquarters, making it unavailable for some time. In particular, the Russian hacker group Killnet was accused of this attack.
The group has also been linked to cyberattacks on Germany’s Bundestag websites, the police, and critical infrastructure.
The alliance noted that it constantly faces hacker threats and takes cybersecurity very seriously.
