NATO chief: New military aid will allow Ukraine to defend itself against Russian offensive and help regain territories
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who took part in the Ramstein meeting, has welcomed the announcement of new arms supplies to Ukraine
The information was reported by Spiegel.
Stoltenberg said the fact that Ukraine will receive hundreds of new armored vehicles, infantry fighting vehicles, and tanks will be of great importance to the country.
This support will reportedly not only allow the Ukrainians to defend themselves against new Russian offensives, but will also allow them to launch their own offensive to recapture their territory.
When asked whether Germany is harming European unity by not yet agreeing to the delivery of Leopard 2, Stoltenberg said that "consultations will continue." In particular, he reminded that since the beginning of the war, the types of support have been constantly changing.
The Secretary General also emphasized that Germany is one of the allies that support Ukraine the most.
"Artillery, ammunition, air defense systems, and now Marder armored personnel carriers: Germany is truly a leader in supporting Ukraine in many, many areas," he said.
