The company noted that the attack of November 15 was the largest in the history of the energy industry, which affected all regions of Ukraine. Energy workers have immediately started to work on restoring power supply to civilian consumers and repairing damaged power lines and plants.
“However, the next few days will not be easy: winter is approaching and will cause an increase in electricity consumption. Accordingly, the load on power supply lines will also increase. Therefore, we ask consumers to be understanding towards the shutdowns that will be implemented as needed, and also continue using electricity sparingly," the message reads.
The Office of the President disclosed more detailed information on electricity supply. Thus, on the morning of November 16, in:
Volyn region - about 45,000 consumers have no electricity. Repair works are ongoing;
Zhytomyr region - repair works are ongoing;
Ivano-Frankivsk region - electricity supply restored;
Kyiv city - electricity supply restored;
Kyiv region - electricity supply restored;
Lviv region - electricity and water supply restored by 95%;
Odesa region - electricity supply restored;
Rivne region - electricity supply restored;
Sumy region - repair works are ongoing;
Ternopil Region - about 90,000 consumers have no electricity supply. Repair works are ongoing;
Kharkiv region - about 90,000 consumers have no electricity supply. Repair works are ongoing;
Khmelnytskyi region - about 105,000 consumers have no electricity supply. Repair works are ongoing;
Cherkasy region - electricity supply restored;
Chernivtsi region - electricity supply restored;
Chernihiv region - electricity supply restored.
In Kryvyi Rih, electricity, water, heat, and trolley traffic are also fully restored.
"Electricity, water, heat, trolleybus traffic and other things have been completely restored in Kryvyi Rih, although it has taken many modifications and extremely hard work due to the destruction of an energy facility in the region," wrote Oleksandr Vilkul, the head of the military administration of Kryvyi Rih.
However, today, November 16, schedules of hourly shutdowns, as well as emergency shutdowns, are being applied throughout Ukraine.
"Massive missile strikes on the energy infrastructure on November 15 and the cold weather have further complicated the situation in the energy system. Therefore, we ask to be understanding of the outages," Ukrenergo says.
Ukrainians are urged to prepare for the fact more electricity supply restrictions will be implemented and stock up on water, charge devices and power banks in advance.
"Limiting energy consumption is a necessary measure to preserve the stability of the energy system following the 6th Russian targeted missile attack on energy facilities. Repair crews are working around the clock to restore the damaged infrastructure in order to restore power to Ukrainians," the department emphasizes.
