The co-chairman of the Joint Control Commission from Transnistria, Oleg Bilyakov, said that the wreckage of the missile fell on the territory of Transnistria in the village of Kitskany, after a missile attack on the Odesa region. It is noted that there were no casualties or damage.
"The warhead of the missile hit the ground but did not explode. The issue will be discussed in the Joint Control Centre, as Chițcani belongs to the Security Zone," Bilyakov said.
For its part, the so-called Transnistrian Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that residents of a house in Chițcani found debris, possibly from an air defence missile, on the territory of their garden. The Interior Ministry claims that the missile is not dangerous.
"The found part of the missile was examined on site. According to the sappers, it does not pose a direct danger," the statement said.
The so-called Transnistrian Interior Ministry claims that "the situation is under control".
