Political technologist Ruslan Rokhov stated this on the Espreso channel.

"The Kremlin is using two factors. First, it is effectively using all the mistakes of the ruling party against them. Second, they are trying to create the feeling that PAS is dragging Moldova into the war. Allegedly, it will be on the side of Ukraine, and therefore, this poses security risks. But the ruling party is essentially mirroring the same thing, saying that a victory for pro-Russian forces means dragging Moldova into the war, but on the side of the Russian Federation," he said.

Rokhov spoke about a poll where 99% of respondents answered "yes" to the question, "Do you believe that the most important outcome of the elections is to avoid war?"

"That is, people are extremely afraid of war, both on the left and the right. In fact, both sides, the pro-Russian patriotic bloc and the ruling party, are scaring their voters by saying that if their opponents win, they will drag the country into war. However, the pro-Russian forces say that Moldova will be dragged into the war by PAS on the side of Ukraine, while the ruling party says that in the event of a victory for pro-Russian forces, Moldova will be dragged into the war on the side of the Russian Federation," the political technologist concluded.

  • Earlier, President Maia Sandu stated that Russia has expanded its interference in Moldova's parliamentary elections, scheduled for September 28, 2025, by targeting voters living abroad.
