Ukrainian forces shut down Russian battery production in Lipetsk region

Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces carried out a strike on the Energia plant in the city of Yelets, Lipetsk region, Russia, on the night of July 3. This plant produced batteries and accumulators for the weaponry of the invading Russian forces

The Ukrainian General Staff reported the information.

The targeted plant provided serial production of batteries and accumulators for the weaponry of the Russian Armed Forces.

"In particular, for universal gliding and correction modules. This is a Russian development that turns ordinary unguided aerial bombs into glide bombs with increased accuracy and range," the military wrote.

The Russian plant also produced batteries and accumulators for Iskander-M operational-tactical missile systems, Kh-35U sea-launched cruise missiles, and power modules for specialized systems.

After the explosions at the Russian defense enterprise, its operations were halted. The results of the strike are being clarified.

  • Ukraine's Security Service, together with the Defense Forces, struck Russian ammunition depots near Velykyi Orikhiv in the temporarily occupied Donetsk region.
