Ukrainian forces need to hold out for 2 to 4 weeks — military expert on Pokrovsk sector
Vladyslav Selezniov, military expert, colonel with the Ukrainian Armed Forces, spokesman for Ukraine’s General Staff (2014-2017), spoke about the situation in the Pokrovsk sector
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
“I hope that General Budanov is not mistaken, which means that by the beginning of October the enemy will have exhausted all its resources and will be forced to take an operational pause. If this is the case, then in fact, 2 or 4 weeks at the most is the time our defenders need to hold out not only in the Pokrovsk direction, but also in some other areas where the enemy has recently intensified its efforts. Therefore, it is obvious that the fact of resources remains the key here, and I think we should pay attention to tomorrow. Let's see what the Ukrainian army will receive as a result of the next Ramstein, because in fact, resources — weapons, ammunition for those weapons, equipment, machinery — all this is an extremely important factor that affects the further course of the situation,” he emphasized.
The military expert noted that Russia has suspended its offensive on Pokrovsk, but is strengthening its flanks.
“So far, we see that the enemy has stopped advancing towards Pokrovsk in the Pokrovsk sector, but is strengthening its flanks to prevent the breakthrough of this section of the front as part of the Ukrainian army's counteroffensive. In any case, the situation is very dynamic, and the fact that this situation is under the constant control of the Ukrainian commander-in-chief Syrkyi is great. This means we can respond flexibly and promptly to all challenges that occur in this area of the frontline. And I hope we have a certain amount of resources to at least stabilize the situation here,” he added.
