Ukraine's UB60D combat drone output reaches 20,000 per month, new models in testing
Ukrainian Armored Vehicles is currently producing 20,000 factory-equipped FPV drones monthly, with plans to triple output and introduce more powerful models based on larger mortar rounds
Defense Express reported the information.
Ukrainian Armored Vehicles, a defense contractor operating under the NAUDI group, has disclosed its production capabilities for the UB60D FPV drone, a weapon system built around a 60mm mortar round that comes pre-equipped from the factory. The company currently manufactures 80 kits per month, with each kit containing 250 UB60D units, bringing total monthly output to 20,000 combat-ready drones.
Vladyslav Belbas, the company's CEO, told Ukrainian media outlets that production could be scaled up two to threefold if sufficient orders materialize, potentially reaching 40,000 to 60,000 units monthly. Each kit is priced between 5.8 and 6.2 million hryvnias, putting the per-unit cost at roughly $500.
The manufacturer is also developing heavier variants currently undergoing testing. A 10-inch FPV drone equipped with an 82mm mortar round warhead is in trials, while engineers are working on a model based on a 120mm mortar round. Belbas indicated the company expects these new systems to receive military certification by the end of January.

The UB60D first gained attention in July of last year when Ukrainian Armored Vehicles announced it had received official military certification for the system. Serial production began approximately a month later in August, following successful combat trials conducted in January 2024.
The drone's key selling point is its factory-integrated warhead, which eliminates the logistical challenge of separately sourcing and attaching munitions—a common issue with commercial FPV drones adapted for military use. This ready-to-deploy approach has attracted international interest, with at least one Western nation taking notice. The UB60D was recently demonstrated alongside the company's Protector remote-controlled platform during Polish territorial defense exercises, where Polish military personnel evaluated the systems.
