“This new war is a completely different kind of war,” Shmyhal said, stressing that Moscow attacks Ukraine every day with hundreds of drones.

The minister also noted that both Ukrainians and Russians are using drones capable of destroying opponents without direct operator involvement.

According to Shmyhal, Kyiv can create new types of weapons in cooperation with Europe and then test them on the battlefield.

• In August 2025 alone, Ukrainian drones hit more than 60,000 targets. The largest share of destroyed enemy equipment and manpower came from 'kamikaze' drones and strike bombers.
