The politician reported this on the social network X.

This information was announced following the Coalition of the Willing meeting in Paris, where Ukraine, the United States, and European partners discussed ways to establish peace.

According to Kristersson, Sweden could make its contribution to preserving peace, particularly through deploying Gripen fighter jets for air surveillance, naval resources for demining the Black Sea, as well as continuing the training of Ukrainian military officers.

At the same time, the prime minister emphasized that Sweden's participation is possible on the condition that a peace agreement is reached, clear rules of engagement for multinational forces are established, and their official approval by the Swedish parliament is obtained.

  • On October 22, 2025, Ukraine and Sweden agreed on intentions to implement a large-scale program for the procurement of up to 150 modern JAS 39 Gripen E fighter jets for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
