Strike on Starobesheve thermal plant leaves occupied Donetsk without power
On the night of November 12, powerful explosions hit the Starobesheve thermal power plant in the occupied Donetsk region, causing widespread power outages
NV and LIGA.net reported the information.
According to Russian sources, at about 8:30 p.m., power outages and voltage fluctuations began in the occupied areas of the Donetsk region.
Later, information appeared that the Starobesheve thermal power plant, located in the village of Novyi Svit, could have been attacked.
The plant's capacity is about 2.3 gigawatts, and it is one of the main sources of energy supply for the occupied part of the region, according to monitoring resources Exilenova+ and OSINTsupernova+.

Journalist Denys Kazansky published a video of the explosions, confirming the strike on the Starobesheve TPP. "Strike on the Starobesheve TPP in the occupied territory of Donetsk region," he wrote on social networks.
The head of the Center for the Study of Occupation, Petro Andriushchenko, noted that the plant was damaged and out of order, which caused massive power outages in the occupied cities — from Donetsk to Mariupol.
According to monitoring projects, the attack on the Starobesheve TPP continues. The destruction of the facility could significantly complicate the energy supply of the occupation administrations in winter.
On the night of November 6, Russia complained about a drone attack. The Kostroma State District Power Plant, located in the city of Volgorechensk, was attacked.
On the night of November 9, explosions were heard in the Russian city of Voronezh. Local residents began reporting an attack on the thermal power plant.
