Special operation “Sea Baby”: SBU shows maritime drones targeting Russian aircraft
On the night of December 5-6, the Security Service of Ukraine carried out the Sea Baby special operation in the Kerch Bay. The operation involved the use of maritime drones targeting Russian military aircraft, helicopters, and patrol boats
The Security Service of Ukraine (known by its Ukrainian acronym SBU) reported the information.
“The Russian pilots saw themselves as hunters and anticipated an easy hunt, but instead, they became the prey,” the SB stated. The SBU added that the marine drones, equipped with large-caliber machine guns and automatic guidance systems, returned fire.
Intercepted Russian radio communications reveal that Russian helicopters have suffered casualties. The aircraft sustained significant damage, necessitating major repairs.
Additionally, drones operated by Ukrainian special services targeted a barge transporting military equipment and supplies for repairing the Crimean bridge. Russia is working to restore the bridge after previous attacks carried out by Ukrainian forces.
“Sea Baby is our versatile platform capable of carrying various weapons, including multiple launch rocket systems, flying drones, and large-caliber machine guns. Most importantly, it has once again demonstrated its effectiveness. The results of our operations far exceed what we can show at the moment, but everything will be revealed in due time,” stated the 13th Main Directorate of the SBU Military Counterintelligence Department.
