Russian troops blocked near Vovchansk: Ukraine’s top general visits Kharkiv direction
Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi visited the Kharkiv sector, assessed the operational situation, and identified the needs of the military.
He shared this update on March 14 via Telegram.
“I worked in the defense zone of the Khartia Brigade in the Kharkiv sector, where the enemy continues to launch assault operations. On-site, I studied the operational situation in more detail, discussed key issues to ensure the sustainability of our defense, and identified the needs of our military. I provided instructions to address the problematic issues,” Syrskyi wrote.
He also reminded that in May 2024, Russia launched a large-scale offensive in this area, with the goal of creating a “buffer zone” in northern Ukraine and potentially capturing Kharkiv.
“However, ten months later, the enemy is blocked near Vovchansk, and in some areas, they have been pushed back to the north,” the Commander-in-Chief reported.
He expressed his gratitude to the Ukrainian servicemen who defend this area.
“The 13th Khartia Operational Brigade of Ukraine's National Guard is one of those military formations that reliably holds the designated lines and destroys the occupiers, effectively using unmanned and robotic systems, both in defense and offense,” Syrskyi wrote.
- According to Ukraine’s General Staff, 146 combat clashes took place on the Russian-Ukrainian front yesterday, March 13. In the Kharkiv sector, Russian troops launched five offensives towards the towns of Vovchansk, Krasne Pershe and Doroshivka.
