Poland intercepts another Russian reconnaissance aircraft over Baltic Sea

The announcement was made by Poland’s Minister of National Defense, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, during a press conference in the city of Kartuzy on Thursday, October 30, RMF24 reports.

Kosiniak-Kamysz noted that this was not the first such incident in recent days. On Tuesday, October 28, a pair of Polish MiG-29s also intercepted a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance plane flying over the Baltic Sea.

According to the Polish military, the Il-20 was conducting a reconnaissance mission in international airspace without a filed flight plan and with its transponder switched off.
