142 clashes at the front in the past day, most intense in Pokrovsk direction - Ukraine's General Staff

Over the last day, 142 combat clashes took place in the frontline. Russian troops attack most actively in the Pokrovsk direction

Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff reports as of 08:00 a.m. on July 1.

According to the updated information, over the past day, Russia launched three missile attacks on Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas, using four missiles, 59 air strikes (89 aircraft in total), and conducted almost 4,600 attacks, 94 of them from MLRS.

Russian airstrikes targeted 35 settlements accross Ukraine.

Frontline situation 

Over the past day, Ukraine's aviation, missile forces and artillery hit two Russian control points, an ammunition depot, one air defense facility and 16 personnel concentrations.

In the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops continued offensive (assault) actions, with a total of 16 combat clashes. The fighting took place, in particular, near Lyptsy, Vovchansk, and Hlyboke.

In the Kupyansk direction, the number of attacks amounted to 10 over the day. Ukrainian defense forces fought off Russian assaults near Synkivka and Pishchane, Kharkiv region, and Stelmakhivka, Luhansk region.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian troops rebuffed 16 Russian attacks near Nevske, Makiivka, Luhansk region, and Torske, Donetsk region.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces countered eight assaults near Spirne, Verkhnyokamianske and Vyimka, Donetsk region.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian Armed Forces stopped 10 Russian attempts to break through Ukrainian defenses near Klishchiivka, Novyi and Chasiv Yar in Donetsk region.

In the Toretsk direction, the Russian troops carried out seven attacks near Pivdenne, Pivnichne and Toretsk.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders beat back 42 assault attacks near Novooleksandrivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Yevhenivka, Prohres, Novoselivka Persha and Sokil, Donetsk region. Russian forces, supported by aviation, tried to force Ukrainian units out of their positions.

In the Kurakhove direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back Russian troops near Nevelske, Heorhiivka, Krasnohorivka, Paraskoviivka and Kostiantynivka. Russian forces tried to break through Ukrainian troops' defenses 17 times.

In the Vremivka direction, Russia made 12 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Vodiane, Kostiantynivka and Makarivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Huliaipole direction, Russian troops tried to attack near Charivne, Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Orikhiv direction, three combat clashes took place near Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region.

The situation near the northern Ukrainian border remained unchanged. No signs of the formation of Russian offensive groups were detected.

On the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, Russian forces maintain a military presence, conduct sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shell settlements from Russia's territory, and increase the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine.

At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers are actively inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying Russian forces, depleting them along the entire front line.

  • Over the past day, the occupying Russian army lost another 1,110 troops and dozens of equipment at the front.
