"Regarding today's attack on Kyiv, there is a point that needs to be noted. Most of the Russian bombers took off from the Olenya airfield located in the Murmansk region. That is, the Russians had to hide their aircraft. As for the Engels airfield, there were reports that the Russians took off 1 or 2 bombers from there, despite the fact that there were 10 aircraft there," Kyrychevskyi explained.
According to the military expert, the absence of satellite images of the Engels airfield for March 20, 2024, would indicate the successful operation of Ukraine’s 'kamikaze' Lutyi drone, as officially acknowledged.
"And then, in a few months, the Russian Investigative Committee will complain that they damaged several bombers before the Kyiv strike. Let me remind you that in December 2023, there were good strikes on the Russian airfields Engels and Shaykovka. According to our official data, 2 Russian bombers were damaged, and the Russians recorded 8 destroyed bombers and several cruise missiles," Kyrychevskyi added.
