Self-proclaimed president of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko confirmed plans to put the Oreshnik missile system on combat duty in December and threatened to strike

The statement was made during a working trip to the Vitebsk region, the propaganda agency BELTA reports.

“Oreshnik is a terrible weapon. In December it will go on combat duty. Why? I want them to understand that we can strike if things go badly. We will sit down with Putin, make a decision and strike. So don’t push your luck. After all, the war in Ukraine began with this. In Donbas they oppressed Russian speakers, killed, harassed. I saw it with my own eyes... So why are you provoking? We lived fine. And the Poles, and the Lithuanians, and so on,” Lukashenko added.

The Belarusian dictator also complained about “foreign opponents.”

“You can’t manipulate us. And in this connection I see the situation being inflamed. They want to squeeze us together with the Russians. Putin, Lukashenko — these are supposedly the aggressors. That mustn’t be done. They won’t cope with us. Do they really want the middle of the last century to repeat? We will cope with ourselves. We are not getting involved there… You understand, they are provoking. Who is pushing them to this? We can only guess. To try to clash here in Europe, to rekindle some fire. That is why I retreat carefully and cautiously. But I retreat until a certain period,” the statement reads.
