Speaking on Suspilne, Trehubov explained that Ukrainian troops managed to push Russian forces back beyond a key highway near Kupiansk. “It acted like a kind of safety line, and we forced the Russians behind it,” he said. “This is not a major strategic victory, but it is a real tactical success.”
According to updated DeepState maps as of August 29, Myrne is now under Ukrainian control. Until recently, Russian troops used positions there to control traffic on the strategically important highway to Kupiansk.
- A day earlier, Trehubov also noted that a Russian force of about 100,000 soldiers had failed to capture Pokrovsk, Chasiv Yar, and Toretsk during its summer offensive.
