Iran: Trump has seized momentum
Protests in Iran may flare up or subside, but there will be no turning back
First, Iran is weaker internally and externally. Iranians have no sense of the future, do not know who will replace Ayatollah Khomeini, who is 86 years old, and have partially lost their "allies" - such as Hezbollah or the Houthis in Yemen.
"China and Russia will help, but cannot save them from Trump."
Second, there will be even more sanctions - from the U.S. and EU. Trump has gained momentum and will complicate Iran's trade not only through additional tariffs on Iran's trading partners, but also through blockade.
And third, Iran's leadership has no friends - only partners. They need Iran, but can live with different leadership, which may not be better, but again different.
Venezuela, Iran, the Arctic... It is critically important for us not to get lost in this list of U.S. priorities, and not only U.S. priorities anymore. And not to forget that the entire world is seen from Washington through the prism of China.
