Iran poised to send short-range ballistic missile launchers to Russia - media
Iran is preparing to supply Russia with short-range ballistic missile launchers, which could happen in the near future
Reuters reported the information, citing two Western security officials and one regional official.
The report specifies that the launchers in question are Fath-360 systems with a range of 120 km. According to the outlet, if the transfer takes place, it would bolster Russia’s position in the war against Ukraine and signal deepening security ties between Moscow and Tehran.
Analysts believe the Fath-360 could become a new weapon used by Russian forces to target Ukrainian troops stationed near the Russian border.
The publication’s sources say the transfer is inevitable. However, they declined to provide further details, including why the launchers have not yet been delivered alongside the missiles.
Russia’s Ministry of Defense and Iran’s mission to the UN did not respond to requests for comment.
- On April 21, Russian leader Vladimir Putin signed a law ratifying the treaty with Iran on a comprehensive strategic partnership.
