
Drones hit Russia’s Basalt military plant: What does it manufacture?

The Basalt plant is an important facility within Russia's military-industrial complex, specializing in the production of a broad range of weaponry.
The enterprise's areas of activity include:
- Aerial bombing weapons: High-explosive, high-explosive fragmentation, concrete-piercing, volume-detonating, and incendiary bombs.
- Close combat weapons: Hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers such as the RPG-7, RPG-29, RPG-30, RPG-32, as well as hand grenades.
- Mortar weapons: Mortar rounds of various calibers and types.
In addition to its serial production, the Basalt plant is deeply involved in research and development, creating experimental weapons and conducting testing on them. This includes the development of new and advanced weaponry, alongside the manufacturing of experimental samples for further evaluation and deployment.
The Basalt Research and Production Association is a key entity within the Rostec State Corporation, which is one of Russia's largest state-owned conglomerates involved in military and high-tech industries. Basalt plays a critical role in supplying the Russian Armed Forces with a wide array of weapons and ammunition, supporting not only the ground forces, but also the air force and navy.
