The commander of the Tavria operational and strategic group of troops, Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, says that the defense operation in Avdiivka continues

Oleksandr Tarnavskyi shared the information on his Telegram channel.

According to the commander, as of 11:00 pm on Thursday, February 15, the situation in Avdiivka remains difficult but controlled. 

"Fierce fighting is taking place within the city. Our troops are using all available forces and means to deter the enemy. According to the decision, we are reinforcing our units as planned and maneuvering troops in threatened areas. In addition, an additional resource of ammunition and other munitions has been allocated," Tarnavskyi wrote.

The commander of the Tavria operational and strategic group of troops said that new positions have been prepared and powerful fortifications are being prepared with all possible scenarios in mind.

"The commanders on the ground know their task and fulfill it in accordance with the plan of the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to stabilize the situation in this area. Troop management is stable and effective. We value every piece of Ukrainian land, but the highest value and priority for us is to save the lives of Ukrainian soldiers. The Avdiivka defense operation continues. Our soldiers continue to destroy the occupier's army and grind the enemy's resources and reserves, which he throws into battle without regret," the statement said.

• In his address on February 15, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the situation at the front, particularly in Avdiivka and in eastern Ukraine in general. He stressed that every effort is being made in Avdiivka to preserve as many Ukrainian lives as possible.
• On February 15, 51 combat clashes took place in the frontline. The Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 14 attacks near Avdiivka.
