Ukraine reports 166 combat clashes on frontline: Pokrovsk, Kurakhove face most intense fighting

Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff's daily report for October 22 as of 8:00 a.m. states the information.

Over the last day, 166 combat clashes occurred on the battlefield. The situation was the most complicated in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions.

According to the updated information, Russian forces launched one missile attack on Ukrainian troops' positions and settlements yesterday, using one missile, as well as 104 air strikes, dropping 165 combat aerial vehicles. In addition, they fired over 4,500 times, including 149 times from multiple launch rocket systems.

25 Ukrainian settlements were hit by Russian air strikes.

Yesterday, the aviation and missile forces and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces conducted four strikes on concentrations of Russian troops and weapons, as well as hit three UAV control centers, five artillery systems and two air defense systems.

Frontline update

In the Kharkiv direction, five combat clashes took place near Vovchansk and Starytsia.

In the Kupyansk direction, the number of attacks amounted to 13 over the day. Ukrainian defense forces repelled Russian assaults near Holubivka, Pishchane, Petropavlivka, Kolisnykivka and Lozova.

In the Lyman direction, Russians troops attacked 14 times near Hrekivka, Novomykhailivka, Terny and Torske.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian forces rebuffed a Russian attempt to advance toward Bondarne.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces tried to push Ukrainian troops out of their positions near Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka and Selydove. Ukrainian defenders fought off 56 assaults. The highest concentration of Russian attacks was near Selydove.

In the Kurakhove direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces beat back 47 attacks near Hirnyk, Novodmytrivka, Horoshne, Katerynivka and Antonivka, where the Russian units tried to break through Ukrainian troops' defenses.

In the Vremivka direction, Russian troops stormed the front line of Ukrainian defense ten times in the direction of Bohoiavlenka and Velyka Novosilka yesterday.

In the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces keep trying to drive Ukrainian troops out of their positions. One combat clashe took place near Robotyne.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, four Russian attacks failed during the storming of the Ukrainian defense lines in the island zone of the Dnipro delta.

There were no significant changes in the situation on the Siversk, Toretsk and Huliaipole directions.

On the border with Belarus, no signs of Russian offensive groups formation were detected.

On the border with the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, Russia is actively using artillery and aviation from its territory near Ukrainian settlements.

  • Over the past day, the Russian army lost 1,460 soldiers in the war in Ukraine. Ukrainian defense forces destroyed 85 Russian drones and 9 tanks.
