"Once again, we are confronted by virtually an entire empire of various enemies: Ukrainian and European neo-fascists, the United States, other Anglo-Saxons and their vassals, and about fifty countries. They have set themselves the goal of strangling and wiping our country off the map. They will not succeed. We are stronger, and now it is also obvious," Medvedev wrote.
He added that the past year has united Russians and "deprived them of illusions about the democratic" West. The former Russian president also accused the United States and other Western allies of Ukraine of dragging out the conflict by supplying weapons to the Ukrainian armed forces and called Russia's nuclear potential a factor in deterring NATO.
"The most powerful deterrent for particularly hotheads in NATO uniforms is the nuclear potential possessed by Russia. We have enough weapons, including modern and high-precision ones," Medvedev said.
He summarized that in the future Russia needs to move on to "normal life" and ensure prosperity for the occupied territories, which he called "new".
