Massive nighttime attack on Ukraine: 35 downed Russian missiles, damaged power lines, and broken windows
On the night of June 6, Kyiv was subjected to another massive attack by the Russian Federation: no hits were recorded, air defense forces shot down 35 missiles, it is reported that debris fell on the road and the roof of the building

Around 01:30, a significant threat emerged from the southeast, leading to the entire Left Bank and Odesa region turning red. By 02:00, the air alert extended to the Zhytomyr and Vinnytsia regions. At 02:35, the alarm encompassed the entire territory of Ukraine, with reports of a missile threat being circulated in monitoring chats.
The Kyiv regional military administration reported the mass attack: "Residents of the Kyiv region! The threat level in the area has increased. Our air defense is active! Please seek shelter or other secure locations until the air alarm is lifted. Avoid sharing information about the work of our defenders on social media."
After 04:00, the alarm sounded across Ukraine, except for the Dnipropetrovsk region. However, an announcement regarding the cancellation of the threat was later made.
Serhiy Popko, the head of Kyiv city military administration, provided an update on the consequences of the missile attack. He stated that more than 20 enemy aerial targets were detected and eliminated near the capital. "Another mass missile attack, likely involving cruise missiles of the Kh-101/555 type, was launched from Tu-95MS strategic bombers in the Caspian Sea region. Based on current information, our air defense successfully detected and destroyed over 20 enemy aerial targets around the capital. No hits were recorded."
Nevertheless, debris falling was observed in the Desnyanskyi district, resulting in damage to the road surface, trolleybus power lines, and partial breakage of shop windows. In the Dniprovskyi district, fragments of a rocket were discovered on the roof of a private building.
"The latest information does not indicate any casualties. We are collecting and verifying operational summaries, as well as assessing the extent of destruction and any potential victims," Popko noted.
Additionally, the Ukrainian Air Force stated that all 35 missiles heading towards Ukraine were successfully intercepted and destroyed: "During the night of June 6, 2023, between 00:30 and 04:00, the aggressors targeted Ukraine with air-launched cruise missiles of the Kh-101/Kh-555 type. These missiles were launched from six Tu-95MS strategic bombers in the region of the Caspian Sea. The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces effectively neutralized all 35 cruise missiles using our air defense capabilities. Most of the Kh-101/Kh-555 missiles were directed towards the capital within the operational jurisdiction of the Air Command Center."
