German Marder infantry fighting vehicles are on their way to Ukraine. The Ukrainian military began training on them in late January

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said this on the sidelines of an EU Foreign and Defense ministers meeting in Brussels, CNN reports.
The Marder infantry fighting vehicle is designed to move soldiers across the battlefield. The German military has been using it since the early 1970s and has been constantly modernizing it. Today, these vehicles are being gradually decommissioned, but hundreds are still in service.

In January, Germany announced that it would provide Ukraine with 40 Marder vehicles.

Later that month, it was reported that Ukrainian soldiers had arrived in Germany to train on these IFVs.
