Lysychansk survived tough night, evacuation takes place every daily - city official says
Oleksandr Zaika, Lysychansk’s Civilian and Military Administration Head, reported on heavy shelling overnight, destruction of the city's infrastructure and the continued evacuation of people despite difficulties
He gave further details on air on Espreso TV.
"The night was very hard, there was heavy shelling. A number of houses were destroyed, kindergartens were hit, and the school was hit hard. It was a very intense night”, he said.
Zaika noted that efforts to evacuate people from the area continue.
"Yesterday, 30 people were taken out from Lysychansk and 20 from Rubizhne. About 49 residents were evacuated from Bilogorivka, including 8 children. There was shelling, but they managed to evacuate. The situation is extremely difficult, nearby settlements are already being shelled heavily. It is very difficult in Novodruzhesk, where the Russians are launching everything they have", Zaika said.
The city’s Civilian and Military Administration Head emphasized that evacuations are taking place every day, despite the difficulties.
